Sew Clever

Donated sewing machines are refurbished and used by an open access sewing group with assistance from a tutor. The aim is to increase skills to a level where income can be generated by subcontracted piece work and small craft based business ideas can supported to the point where individuals who need flexible work patterns can achieve financial independence.

All skilled-up and ready to go!

After a summer of wringing every bit of bag-making knowledge we could out of designer Juliette Smith, the team are feeling confident about teaching others to make their own. Watch this space in the new year for details of our workshops. Can't wait that long? Then come and play with us at Whisk on Tuesdays 10 til 1, and Wednesdays upstairs at Filwood Library 10.30 til 1.
